Audio journey with Count Wenzelslaus
What do swirling dust flakes sound like? And what does it sound like when butter melts? Children aged eight to eleven can embark on an exciting audio journey through the world of sounds in the “Count Wenzelslaus” music workshop on Monday, August 5, 2024 and Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm respectively, at the Radolfzell City Library. Participation is free of charge, registration by e-mail to musikvermittlung.radolfzell@gmail.com is required. The workshop, which takes place as part of the summer holiday program, is a cooperation between the Radolfzell City Library and the Radolfzell Music School.
The offer is based on the children’s book “Graf Wenzelslaus” by Thomas J. Hauck. In it, the author tells the story of Count Wenzelslaus, the world’s most famous sound collector, who is constantly on the lookout for exciting sounds – for example, the sound of dust flakes whirling or the sound of butter melting. Together with the music teacher at the music school, Amelie Schirmer, the participants set the story of Count Wenceslas to music, and the children can also read, paint, sing and make music together on percussion instruments. This brings the story to life! On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the story set to music will be performed in the city library at 6 p.m. Participating children do not need to have any previous musical knowledge or be able to play a musical instrument.
